Craig McConnell - Director
B.Bus (Mgt Econ), M.COM (Mktg),
FAICD, MIES
As Managing Director, Craig brings to Advertising Energy a unique blend of organisational brand strategy, corporate directorship and formal strategic management credentials. Since taking the reins of Advertising Energy in 2006, Craig has completed a Masters of Marketing and is currently completing a PhD. in employer branding, consumer branding and corporate branding.
After eleven years of elected service in one of the largest councils in Queensland, Craig has developed a wealth of knowledge in organisational development and strategy. To complement this, Craig is practiced in corporate governance and is currently a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Craig has been involved in the implementation of corporate brand development and overseen re-branding projects in the brand delivery functions of the employment, product / service and corporate brands. He is also well skilled in the areas of organisational co-ordination and the development of the type of policy framework that is needed to support successful strategic and creative brand implementation.
Kath McConnell - Director
Kath is custodian of and ultimately responsible for the products, services and operational efficiency of the agency. Passionate about data, statistics and demography, Kath is often heard sprouting “don’t tell me, show me”. So assisting key account management staff with measurement metrics, the interpretation of data for findings reports to support existing strategies or to formulate new recommendations for clients, is her guilty pleasure.
Importantly, Kath also ensures that the commercial requirements of the work we deliver to our clients are being met by staying abreast of the changing dynamics and commercial needs of clients’ businesses by performing commercial due diligence to our creative and strategic recommendations before presentation to clients.
David Storey - Account Director
David Storey has been part of the Advertising Energy story since 2003 and champions client relationships in our Sydney office. He is a hands-on account director who manages clients across property, recruitment and pharmaceutical sectors as well as stewarding account managers as they develop their careers and skills.
David has extensive business experience in advertising, multi-media and e-commerce consulting. This experience lends well to ensure strategies and solutions developed for clients consider the entire marketing and media mix. Oh, and he’s just become a dad for the first time and is a cricket tragic. We are all watching to see how he juggles these incompatible loves.
Simon Druery - Creative Director and Copywriter
Since graduating with honours and a Bachelor of Graphic Design, Simon has spent the last 11 years building an impressive legacy in the Australian advertising industry. With vast experience through all forms of media, Simon is one of the leading Creative Directors and copywriters in the Employment Marketing space. Simon has led and overseen the development of EVPs for many blue-chip Australian organisations including Commonwealth Bank, Lion Nathan and ING Direct, while he has created outstanding campaigns for everyone from L’Oréal and Pfizer to Lend Lease and Austral Bricks. The creativity doesn’t stop at the office though, in his (limited!) spare time, Simon is a documentary film-maker and award-winning artist.
Janet Davison - Financial Controller
Janet is Advertising Energy’s Financial Controller and has over 20 years accounting and financial management experience. Her expertise lies in financial accounting and reporting and the alignment of the finance function to support business decisions.
Janet joined the Agency in 2000 and has had the same Finance team supporting her since then. Her experience prior to the Agency included Finance / Company secretary roles within the Property and Tourism markets where she developed a wealth of knowledge in the areas of financial management and reporting for both internal and external stakeholders.
Janet is a member of CPA Australia.
